American Car Wash (“we”, “us”) operates hand car wash and detailing services in Belgium. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, and we process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Belgian law. 1. Data we collect

We only collect data we actually need to serve you:

• Contact details, name, phone number and email address when you book or contact us.
• Booking details, the service chosen, date and time, and vehicle type.
• Order details, if you buy products through our shop: the items ordered and delivery information.
• Technical data, basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) needed to run and secure the website.

We do not process payment card data ourselves; payments at our locations are handled by certified payment terminals and providers.

2. Why we process it (legal bases)

• Performance of a contract, to manage your bookings and orders, confirm appointments and provide the service you requested.
• Legitimate interest, to answer your questions, keep the website secure, and improve our services.
• Legal obligation, to keep invoices and accounting records as required by Belgian tax law.
• Consent, only where we ask for it explicitly (for example, a newsletter). You can withdraw consent at any time.

We never sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

3. How long we keep it

• Booking and contact data: up to 3 years after your last interaction with us.
• Invoicing and accounting records: 7 years, as required by law.
• Server logs: up to 12 months.

When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us operate, such as our website hosting and booking platform provider and, where applicable, delivery partners. These providers act as processors under contract, may only use the data on our instructions, and are located in the EU or covered by appropriate GDPR safeguards. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

5. Cookies

This website uses only strictly necessary cookies, for example, to keep your shopping cart or booking session working. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because we limit ourselves to essential cookies, no cookie consent is required; if that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased where it is no longer needed;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email connect@amcarwash.be. We respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, www.dataprotectionauthority.be).

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and up-to-date software. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risks to a minimum.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
